Elmhurst Winter Weather: School Closings

ELMHURST, IL — The Chicago suburbs are forecast to receive between 6-10 inches of snow from Thursday night into Friday. Elmhurst falls under the winter storm warning that begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, and several area organizations have already reported closures or late openings.

• Timothy Christian Schools, Closed Friday
• IC Catholic Prep, Closed Friday
• Elmhurst Academy, Closed Friday
• Immaculate Conception Grade School, Closed Friday
• Visitation Catholic School, Closed Friday
• Mary Queen of Heaven Preschool, Closed Friday

Normal refuse service will be delayed until Saturday, according to the city.

The city of Elmhurst also reminded residents of parking limitations during snowfall. The city said city snow removal crews will be working around the clock to clean and maintain city streets. Due to the potential for heavy snow, refuse pick up may take longer than usual. Residents can assist city crews by keeping fire hydrants free of snow piles, and not blowing or shoveling snow onto city streets.

The Elmhurst Police Department will not allow for any overnight street parking on Thursday and Friday evening.
