Elmhurst Woman Accused Of Trespassing: Cops

A Villa Park woman faces a felony retail theft charge, Elmhurst police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving criminal trespassing, felony retail theft, a counterfeit bill and a fugitive driver. Here is information from the reports:

Criminal trespassing

  • Ashley Kline, 39, of Elmhurst, was arrested Monday at Grand Avenue and York Street on a charge of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. Police said an officer found a car that was reported stolen by Enterprise Rental Car in Sparta, Illinois. She was released on bond.

  • Crystal L. Blagaich, 42, of Villa Park, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a felony charge of retail theft. Police said she stole a Hoover vacuum and clothing. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Warrant

  • Devree Vanhorn, 40, of Willowbrook, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South York Street on a DuPage County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Found scooter

  • A Razor Powerwing Scooter was found Monday in the 300 block of South Chandler Avenue. It was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

Retail theft

  • A man has shown up at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, twice with stolen items and returned them for credit. Kohl's reported the crimes Monday.

Counterfeit

  • A resident in the 200 block of North Larch Avenue on Tuesday unknowingly paid for a UPS transaction with a fraudulent $100 bill. An investigation is pending.

Fugitive driver

  • About 9 p.m. Wednesday, an officer tried to stop the driver of a stolen Volkswagen Passat near Roosevelt and Route 83, but the driver fled. A man was driving with a woman as a passenger.
