Elmhurst Woman Arrested Again On Theft Charges: Records

She has been in trouble with the authorities before, as previous reports show.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst woman was arrested over the weekend on charges of retail theft and burglary, her second such incident at the same grocery store, according to public records.

About 8 p.m. Saturday, Meagan A. Carter, 26, of Elmhurst, was taken to the DuPage County Jail, police said. She was accused of stealing merchandise at Mariano's grocery store, 678 N. York St.

In September 2020, Carter was seen loading bottles of liquor into a backpack at Mariano's, police said.

A few months later, officers were called to Crestview Park about people climbing on an ice cream truck. The people told the officers they were checking out the truck.

Among the people were Carter, who was then arrested on warrants from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office and the Chicago Police Department, police said.
