Elmhurst Woman Arrested In Domestic Disturbance: Cops
In another case, a man became belligerent at an Elmhurst store, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police have arrested people on charges of domestic battery, disorderly conduct, DUI, drug possession and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Domestic battery
- A 43-year-old woman who lives in the 700 block of North Michigan Street was arrested about 7 p.m. Friday at her house on two counts of domestic battery and a count of resisting or obstructing an officer. Police said the woman struck another person in the right ear. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 29-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about noon Thursday on a charge of domestic battery. Police said they received a report of a domestic disturbance at Shell gas station, 301 W. Butterfield Road. Officers pulled over the woman. The victim has visible injuries, police said. The woman was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- A 45-year-old Aurora man was arrested about 8 p.m. Thursday at Old Havana Cigar Shop, 189 E. Butterfield Road, on charges of disorderly conduct and smoking where marijuana is prohibited. When asked to leave, the man became belligerent and yelled obscenities, which alarmed the store, police said. He was released and served with a no-trespass notice.
- A 61-year-old Addison woman was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on a charge of disorderly conduct. Police said the woman pointed a lighter that resembled a gun at a person about 4 p.m. the day before at Thorntons gas station, 476 N. York St. She was released and issued a no-trespass notice.
DUI
- Rafael Hernandez, 22, of West Chicago, was arrested about 5 a.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Oak Street on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, possession of open alcohol by a driver, disobeying a stop sign and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
- Jose Salazar, 47, of Lombard, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday at Roosevelt Road and Route 83 on charges of aggravated DUI and speeding. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 19-year-old La Grange man was arrested about 4:30 a.m. at Lake and York streets on charges of driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than zero, improper turn and possession of marijuana outside a proper container. He was released.
- A 38-year-old Addison man was arrested about 3 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of West Lake Street on charges of DUI and possession of a controlled substance. Officers said they found a bag containing a white powdery substance in the man's car. He was released.
- A 53-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Myrtle and North avenues on charges of DUI, transportation of open alcohol by a driver, driving an uninsured car, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic signal. An officer saw the man strike a curb three times. He was released on bond.
- A 38-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, transportation of open alcohol and improper lane usage. He was released.
- A 19-year-old Hillside man was arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday at Roosevelt Road and York Street on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, driving too fast for conditions and consumption of alcohol by a minor. The man was involved in a crash. He was released.
Drugs

- Elias Plakisas, 56, of Hickory Hills, was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, expired registration and driving an uninsured car. He was released.
Retail theft
- A 32-year-old Addison man was arrested about 2 p.m. Sunday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a charge of retail theft. He was released on bond.
