Elmhurst Woman Charged After Kicking Waiting Car: Cops

Another woman said the incident happened after she honked her horn, police say.

ELMHURST, IL — An Elmhurst woman was charged after she kicked a waiting car in the 200 block of Michigan Street, where she lives, police said.

Amanda J. Kearin, 41, of Elmhurst, was charged with criminal damage to property.

About 8 a.m., a woman told police that after waiting 10 minutes for a child to be loaded onto a bus, she honked and gestured to Kearin, according to a police report. Kearin had been in the street talking to the bus driver, police said.

In response, Kearin approached the other woman's car, yelled at her and kicked her car door, causing a crease in the body of the vehicle, the report said.

Police cited Kearin and released her.
