Elmhurst Woman Strikes Cop, Nurse: Police

ELMHURST, IL – An intoxicated Elmhurst woman ended up facing a number of charges after creating a disturbance in town, police said.

Jellyn Juarez, 58, of the 600 block of North Adele Street, screamed at others in the 300 block of East Fullerton Avenue, police said.

She refused to leave the victim's property and threw a ceramic ashtray, causing damage to a door, police said.

Medics took Juarez to Elmhurst Hospital, where she pushed an officer and kicked a nurse, police said.

She was arrested on two counts of aggravated battery and counts of aggravated assault to ambulance personnel, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to property and disorderly conduct.

She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
