Elmhurst Woman Victim Of Lollapalooza Scam

In other cases, local officers responded to two domestic disturbances, according to reports.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a Lollapalooza scam, domestic disturbances, an injured bicyclist, a dog bite, a stolen package, an unconscious person and fugitive drivers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Lollapalooza scam

  • A resident in the 100 block of South Villa Avenue told police Friday that she bought Lollapalooza tickets through the event's website. She received a text message requesting her address and payment information for the purchase. She answered with bank information and later discovered two unauthorized transactions.

Domestic disturbances

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Kirk Avenue. A man told police that a woman threw a phone and a vase at him. No injuries were seen. The woman left the house for a day.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Elm. Two people were arguing. Both agreed to separate for the night.

Injured bicyclist

  • A bicyclist fell onto the pavement about 4 p.m. Thursday a Vallette Street and Mitchell Avenue. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Dog bite

  • A man told police he was bitten in the leg by a dog while meeting with the dog's owner about 8 p.m. July 12 in the 400 block of North Larch Avenue. The animal bite report was sent to DuPage County Animal Services.

Stolen package

  • Someone stole a package about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in an apartment lobby in the 300 block of South West Avenue.

Unconscious person

  • A woman told police that she found an unconscious person when she returned from shopping about 8 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 153 Schiller St. The person was exhibiting rattled, shallow breathing. A dose of Narcan, which is used to treat overdoses, was administered to the person, who then regained consciousness.

Fugitive driver

  • About 11 p.m. Thursday near North and Glade, an officer tried to stop a car that was wanted in connection with a felony. The driver sped up, turned the headlights and taillights off, and went onto eastbound Interstate 290 from North Avenue.
