End Of Tunnel For Elmhurst Neighborhood: City
The mayor said he was sorry for what neighbors experienced over the last few years.

ELMHURST, IL – A 4-year-long home renovation project in Elmhurst that upset neighbors is completed, the mayor said Wednesday.
If that is the case, homeowner Harry Hostetler followed the terms of an agreement with the city to deal with neighbors' frustrations. His house is at 374 Aberdeen Court in Elmhurst, though he also owns a $3 million home in Lake Geneva.
"All the concrete was poured today," Mayor Scott Levin said in an email to neighbors. "Tomorrow or the next day, the contractor will return for a couple hours to strip the concrete forms."

Residents on Aberdeen Court complained about all the construction vehicles dominating their cul-de-sac for years. They also expressed concern about the noise.
Hostetler repeatedly had contractors do work and then tear it up, according to the city.
Patch published a story Tuesday about the latest issues with the renovation.
