Ex-Elmhurst University Worker Inappropriate On Campus: Police

In another case, officers were called after a person refused to leave the hospital.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving trespassing, porch piracy, fraud, a domestic disturbance and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Trespassing

  • A former Elmhurst University employee returned twice over a day and inappropriately spoke to members of the college community. The incidents were reported Tuesday. The person was given a no-trespass notice.
  • A person at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, refused to leave about 1 a.m. Wednesday. The person entered a patient's room and disobeyed staff. The person was given a no-trespass notice and left.

Porch piracy

  • UPS and FedEx packages were stolen between noon and 4 p.m. Friday from the front porch of a house in the 300 block of North Oaklawn Avenue. The theft was reported three days later.
  • A man stole a FedEx package about 1:30 p.m. Monday from the front porch of a house in the 700 block of North Geneva Avenue.

Fraud

  • A check made payable to Glass America, 977 N. Oaklawn Ave., from Gerber Collision & Glass was stolen from a desk drawer at Glass America on Oct. 17 or Oct. 18. The check was altered and deposited in a BMO Bank account. It was denied after a stop payment order was placed.

  • A black men's bicycle was found about 10:30 a.m. Monday at Crestview Park, 245 E. Crestview. It was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

Domestic disturbance

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of North West Avenue.

Retail theft

  • Police were called to a retail theft in progress about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. Two women stole merchandise before entering a silver Chevrolet Trax. An officer tried to stop the car, but the driver sped away. An investigation is pending.
