ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a worker dispute, scams, an order of protection, damage, a burglary, a battery and a missing person. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Worker dispute
- An employee recently resigned from FoodMix, 103 W. Arthur St., under bad circumstances. The former employee refused to stop contacting the business. The suspect was advised not to have any further contact with FoodMix or its employees and communicate directly with the firm's attorneys. The report was filed with the police Thursday.

- A resident in the 400 block of West St. Charles Road sent money March 4 to a stranger after receiving deceptive messages through Facebook. The scam was reported Thursday.
- A person at The UPS Store, 205 E. Butterfield Road, told police Thursday she had won money through a sweepstakes and was told to send money for the funds to be available. The checks were stopped and returned to the person before any loss occurred.
Order of protection
- A temporary order of protection was served to a suspect about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of West Walnut Street.

- Someone damaged five decorative lights surrounding the mausoleum at Glos Park, 170 E. Park Ave. The damage occurred between 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.
Check fraud
- A woman told police Friday that one of her checks was altered after it had been placed in a U.S. Postal Service mailbox March 3 at 154 W. Park Ave.
Burglary
- Someone entered a resident's unlocked car overnight Thursday in a driveway in the 100 block of North Walnut Street. An investigation is pending.
Battery
- An Elmhurst Hospital employee told police he was struck by a patient about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The employee did not sign a complaint.
Missing person
- Police responded to Elmhurst Hospital for a report of a missing person about 9 p.m. Sunday. A woman said the victim suffered from a medical condition and never arrived to pick her up. The victim was later found in Lombard and released to family.
