Explicit Images, Targeted Firm: Elmhurst Cops
A suspect threatened to share explicit images if money weren't given, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving explicit images, a defrauded business, harassment, a stolen phone, a suspicious person, retail theft and a gift card scam. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Explicit images
- Someone sent explicit images to a male at Elmhurst University on Tuesday and threatened to share them if he didn't send money through Zelle. The person did not send the money and blocked the suspect on social media.

- A person at Super Ego Trucking, 677 N. Larch Ave., told police Wednesday that someone sent a fraudulent email acting as one of the company's clients and requested a change in banking information. A payment was later sent to the suspect.
Leaving crash scene
- Allan Garcia Perez, 21, of Bensenville, was cited about 5 p.m. Tuesday on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The crash occurred in the 100 block of West First Street. He was released on bond.
Harassment

- Someone sent harassing messages via text and email to several employees Feb. 21 at Integra Health Equipment, 321 W. Lake St. The employees said they wanted the suspect to be served with a no-trespass notice.
Stolen phone
- A woman told police Monday that her daughter misplaced her Apple iPhone on Sunday in the 100 block of West First Street. It was then stolen.
Identity theft
- A resident in the block of West Verret Street told police Monday that someone used her Chase debit card information to make a fraudulent purchase.
Suspicious person
- Police were called about a suspicious person about 2 a.m. Tuesday at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave. Officers issued a no-trespass notice to the person.
Retail theft
- Several employees of Whole Foods, 215 S. Route 83, told police they saw a man steal several pounds of meat about 7:30 p.m. Friday. The theft was reported four days later.
Gift card scam
- A woman in the 500 block of North Willow Road on Tuesday tried to cancel a subscription. The suspect she contacted gained access to her computer and advised her to buy gift cards for a refund. The woman bought four gift cards and sent the numbers to the suspect.
