Fake Social Media, Nuisance: Elmhurst Cops
A resident found someone created a social media account in her name, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a fake social media account, a chronic nuisance, a customer dispute, a stolen gun, a wallet theft and missing deposits. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Fake social media account
- A resident in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue told police Thursday that someone opened a fake social media account in her name with Photoshopped pictures. The woman reported the account and requested the photos be taken down.
Nuisance

- A chronic nuisance warning was issued to an apartment Thursday in the 900 block of North Virginia. The police referred to an incident earlier this month when a fight was reported. A minor was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Customer dispute
- Officers responded about 10 a.m. Thursday to Fifth Third Bank, 990 N. York St., for a customer dispute. The customer was irate and shouted obscenities through the drive-up window. The suspect was issued a no-trespass notice.
Stolen gun

- A person in the 700 block of North Larch told police that he found two guns on his father's property. The man did not want the guns, one of which was found to be stolen in Jackson County, Mississippi. The man's father died in Mississippi. The man turned the guns into the Elmhurst police station Thursday. The police notified the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Wallet theft
- An Elmhurst University employee told police that two women stole her unattended wallet about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The worker left the wallet on her desk in her office. The women then withdrew money from the employee's account. The suspects were described as black and 25 years old. One was wearing a long white sweater and had long black hair. The other was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and brown boots. An investigation is pending.
Missing deposits
- The manager of Elmhurst Animal Care, 850 S. Riverside Drive, told police that upon returning from a trip Thursday, several deposits were found to be missing. An investigation is pending.
Medical emergency
- An officer responded to a driver possibly having a medical emergency about 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of West Butterfield Road. The person was found to be disoriented and taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
