Fatal Pedestrian-Train Crash In Elmhurst: City

A pedestrian died in the crash at a local railroad crossing, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – A pedestrian died in a crash Monday afternoon with a train at Cottage Hill Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad crossing in Elmhurst, the city reported.

Trains are stopped in both directions, with first responders at the site of the crash, the city said.

Cottage Hill at the crossing and Park Avenue between York Street and Cottage Hill are closed.
