Felony Theft, Domestics: Elmhurst Arrests
A suspect in a retail theft operation was arrested at an Elmhurst store, police said.
ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of felony retail theft, domestic battery, drug possession, trespassing and felony revoked license. Here is information from the reports:
Felony retail theft
- Tierra Smith, 23, of Chicago, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of burglary and felony retail theft. According to a police report, Smith is part of a crew that has stolen merchandise from numerous Kohl's stores. At the Elmhurst store, the crew put clothing items in garbage bags and a shopping cart and staged the items near the emergency exit. Smith was caught, while the others got away, according to police. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Domestic battery

- Joseph Washburn, 53, of Villa Park, was arrested at 5 p.m. Monday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill, on a charge of domestic battery. According to a police report, Washburn grabbed a female's phone out of her hand and pulled her hair, causing her to fall. He was found in the hospital's parking lot. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Nathan Holland, 61, of Bellwood, was arrested shortly after noon Sunday in the 400 block of North York on a charge of domestic battery. According to a police report, a woman told officers that Holland punched her in the face during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Drugs
- Shawn Hayes, 32, of Gardner, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at Roosevelt and Route 83 on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Nicolaos Kritikos, 48, of Yorkville, was arrested about 10 a.m. Tuesday at Al Piemonte Buick, 365 S. Grand Ave., on charges of delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. According to a police report, a controlled substance was found in a car that was brought in for service at the dealership. Kritikos was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Trespassing

- Blake Talbert, 27, of Crete, was arrested about 2 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of North West on a charge of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. According to a police report, Talbert said he was homeless and staying inside an unlocked car in a driveway to stay warm. Talbert was released on bond.
Driving violations
- Silver Galindo, 34, of Glendale Heights, was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles and Fair on charges of driving with a revoked license and speeding. Galindo was released on bond.
- William Perez, 35, of Round Lake, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Third and Walnut on charges of felony driving with a revoked license, damage to state property, improper lane usage and failure to notify police of an accident. According to a police report, Perez admitted to striking a light pole. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
