Fight, Domestic Disturbance: Elmhurst Cops

A youth admits to punching another person several times, police say. Charges are pending.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a fight, a domestic disturbance, a hospital incident, curfew violations and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Fight

  • Police were called about a fight about 5 p.m. Saturday at 325 W. Lake St. Officers saw a large welt on a person’s forehead. Another person admitted to punching the victim several times. The suspect was taken into custody and then released to his parents pending charges.

Domestic disturbance

  • A domestic disturbance occurred about 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Larch Avenue. A man said a woman yelled at him and struck him. The woman said that as she leaned over the man, he hit her. Because of conflicting statements and no visible signs of injury, no arrests were made. The woman left the house for the evening.

  • Carolina Alcantra, 40, of Villa Park, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Friday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill, on a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office warrant. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Alcantra caused a disturbance at the hospital and refused to leave. She left before officers arrived, but they later found her.

Curfew

  • Police received a complaint that people were knocking on residents’ doors about 1:30 a.m. Sunday near Jackson and Cambridge. Officers saw three youth bicyclists and told them they were violating the local curfew. They were released to their parents and referred to the peer jury program.

DUIs

  • Mohammed Rashid, 23, of Lombard, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at North and Route 83 on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful use of marijuana by a driver, speeding, improper lane usage and transportation of open alcohol. He was released on bond.
  • Rudy G. Ramos Velasquez, 34, of Addison, was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at North and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, transportation of open alcohol and driving the wrong way. He was released on bond.

Driving violations

  • Tcherly Philemy, 47, of Hoffman Estates, was cited Thursday at St. Charles and York on a charge of driving with a suspended license. The person was released on bond.
  • Michael Harris, 63, of Berkeley, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Poplar on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and injuring city property. He was released on bond.
  • Adrian Alvarez, 29, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 2 a.m. Saturday at North and Addison on a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office warrant and on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. He was released on bond.
