Fight In Elmhurst Neighborhood Results In Charges: Cops

In another case, a resident received threatening messages from an ex-worker, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving battery, threatening messages, fraud and DUI. Here is information from the latest reports:

Battery

  • A 48-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of North Highview Avenue and a 46-year-old Wood Dale woman were cited about 10 p.m. Wednesday at the man's home on charges of battery. The two got into a fight with others and left before the police arrived. They were later found and then released.

  • A resident in the 700 block of North Walnut Street told police Tuesday that a former employee had been sending threatening messages. The police department contacted the ex-employee and told the person to stop communicating with the resident.

Fraud

  • A woman told police she left her debit card in an ATM about 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. A man later made three unauthorized transactions. The man was described as black, having a beard, and wearing a Yankees hat, a blue and white jacket, and jeans.
  • A person fraudulently used a credit card to buy parts about 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at TransChicago Trucking Group, 776 N. York St. The incident was reported Wednesday. An investigation is pending. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 50 to 60, about 6 feet, having gold teeth, and wearing a brownish fur coat, a white baseball cap with "Chino" embroidered on it, light-colored jeans and white sneakers.
  • A resident in the 400 block of South Parkside received a call Tuesday from what she thought was PNC Bank's fraud department. The victim provided the person was her bank account information and then realized she was being scammed. The suspect withdrew money from the resident's account. The resident notified her bank.

DUI

  • A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1 a.m. Monday at County Line Road and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, resisting a police officer, disobeying a traffic control device, driving an uninsured car, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver and driving a car with a suspended registration. He was taken to the police station and then released.
