Fighting, BB Gun On Campus: Elmhurst Cops
A man punches someone else during an argument at a local business, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving fighting, a weapon on campus, domestic battery, theft, an order of protection and a fired worker. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Fighting
- A 46-year-old McHenry man was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gerber Collision and Glass, 400 W. Grand Ave., on a charge of disorderly conduct (engaging in a fight). Police said the man punched another person during an argument. The man was released.

- A 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested about 7 p.m. Tuesday at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave., on charges of disorderly conduct. Police were called about a suspicious person holding a weapon on campus. The men were found with a BB gun. The 26-year-old lives in the 100 block of South Kenmore Avenue and the other lives on campus. The 26-year-old was also given a no-trespass notice.
Domestic battery
- A 41-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of West Eggleston Avenue was arrested about 7 p.m. Wednesday on charges of violating his pretrial release and resisting a police officer. He was reported to be within 1,000 feet of the victim's home. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. On Sunday, he was arrested on two counts of domestic battery at his house. Police said he punched another person.
Theft

- Wilkins Hyundai, 750 N. York St., told police Monday that its Hyundai Kona loaner car has been missing since March 21. It is considered stolen.
Order of protection
- A woman told police that a man with whom she had an order of protection tried to contact her about 4 p.m. Monday inside Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave., and in the parking lot. The man was told he could not contact the woman.
Fired worker
- Portillo's, 155 S. Route 83, called police about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday about a fired worker refusing to leave. When officers arrived, the person was no longer there. The business asked that the former worker be given a no-trespass notice.
Battery
- A man waiting for the train about 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Metra station, 128 W. First St., said his friend became angry and punched him in the face. An investigation is pending.
Unfounded claim
- A person told police Monday about being battered by personnel at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. Police said an investigation determined the accusation was unfounded. The person was given a no-trespass notice.
