Fugitive Caught In Elmhurst Identified: Cops

He is accused of crashing in Elmhurst after officers pursued him in other towns, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A Huntley man who is accused of hitting a car in Elmhurst after being pursued by officers in other towns has been identified, police said.

Mitchell Kirksey, 36, of Huntley, was arrested Sunday on four counts of obstruction of justice. He was taken over the weekend to the DuPage County Jail, where he remained Thursday afternoon.

Kirksey got into a crash about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Butterfield and Spring Roads, police said. A 56-year-old Oakbrook Terrace man in the other car was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, police said.

Police said they found Kirksey's car, a Chevrolet Tahoe, at Eldridge Park. He was found shortly after in the park.

Earlier, Kirksey had been chased by police in Hillside and Berkeley, police said.

Authorities said more charges may be filed against Kirksey.
