ELMHURST, IL — A resident in the 600 block of South York called Elmhurst Fire Department at 5:57 p.m. July 11 after seeing smoke coming from her detached garage. According to a release from the department, when firefighters arrived on scene, they forced entry into the garage and quickly extinguished the fire. There was minor damage to the interior of the garage, according to the release. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Elmhurst Fire Department was assisted by Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park, and York Center Fire Departments.<hr />Image via Shutterstock.
