Governor Rauner To Sign Bill In Elmhurst
The Annie LeGere Law was inspired by Elmhurst's own Annie LeGere, a 13-year-old who passed away from a fatal allergic reaction.

ELMHURST, IL — Governor Bruce Rauner and State Sen. Chris Nybo will be at Elmhurst City Hall on July 31 to sign an amendment for the Annie LeGere bill, which Nybo sponsored. The signing will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the second floor city council chambers.
According to Nybo's office, the governor will sign SB 2226, which contains an amendment sponsored by State Sen. Chris Nybo of Elmhurst that would encourage medical professionals’ participation in the initiative to equip police officers with epinephrine auto-injectors (EpiPens) for allergy-related emergencies.
The amendment specifies that a physician, physician's assistant or advanced practice registered nurse with prescriptive authority who provides a prescription or standing order for epinephrine for an Illinois police department will not be subject to civil or professional liability for law enforcement’s misuse of the medication, according to Nybo's office.
