Guard Bitten, Endangering Kid: Elmhurst Cops

Police plan to file charges against a person who bit a security guard, report says.

ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a guard who was bitten, child endangerment, the confusion over a person's whereabouts, a gun charge, shoplifting and a domestic disturbance. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Guard bitten

  • A security guard at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill, was bitten by a suspect about 6:30 p.m. Friday. The guard was trying to restrain the patient when he was bitten. A warrant for aggravated battery charges is pending.

  • Lariana Townsend, 26, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 6 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Fellows Court on a charge of endangering the life of a child. She faces several Cook County drug charges. She was released on bond. According to a police report, Townsend was found with several grams of heroin and cocaine.

Son's whereabouts

  • A mother told police Saturday that her son notified her that he would be at a friend's house for his birthday. The mother became concerned when her son's phone was traced to an address in Northbrook the following day. The victim was later found by Hillside police at an address in that town. The son said he spent the night with a female he met online.

  • Brandon C. Perry, 28, of Maywood, was arrested about 5:30 a.m. Sunday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 Brush Hill, on a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on a person or vehicle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, an officer responded to the hospital because of a man with a stab wound. The officer found the incident occurred in Bellwood. A search of the suspect's car yielded a loaded black Glock 32 .357 handgun on the front seat.

Shoplifting

  • A man was in the process of buying two iPhones about 4 p.m. Sunday at the T-Mobile store, 361 S. Route 83, when an employee walked away to retrieve a third phone. When she returned, the suspect and the two phones were gone. Officers checked the area, but couldn't find the man. The suspect was described as black, in his early 20s, 6 feet, 1 inches, tall, skinny, having a dark complexion with marks on his face next to his eyes, and wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket and dark slim-fit jeans.

Domestic disturbance

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. No street was listed. A woman said she argued with her boyfriend, and things turned physical when the woman pushed the man, who then pushed back. Neither party suffered injuries, and the suspect left the house without any further problems.

DUIs

  • Scott Hiatt, 51, of Elmhurst, was arrested shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday at York and Crestview on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. His arrest happened after a traffic crash. He was released on bond.
  • Sebastian Velasco-Cedillo, 24, of Chicago, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and 16th on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic control device, transportation of open alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond.
  • Dominique Womack, 27, of Chicago, was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of DUI, unlawful transportation of marijuana by a driver, improper lane usage, speeding and expired registration. The suspect was released on bond.
  • Daniel Green, 66, of Bellwood, was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Sunday at York and Vallette on charges of DUI (drugs), improper lane usage and disobeying a stop sign. He was released on bond.
  • Michael Kessler, 31, of Northlake, was arrested at 8 p.m. Sunday at Sunnyside and Olive on charges of DUI and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond.

Driving violations

  • Juan Juarez Gonzalez, 20, of Addison, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Charles and Scott on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and tinted windows. He was released on bond.
  • Mark Sulkin, 31, of Elmhurst, was cited shortly before midnight Thursday in the 300 block of West Commonwealth on a charge of possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. He was released on bond.
  • Jackelin Gonzales, 25, of Villa Park, was cited at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Route 83 and Interstate 290 on charges of possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, no seat belt and speeding. She was released on bond.
  • Armando Salmeron-Godine, 22, of Maywood, was cited at 11 a.m. Friday at North and Melrose on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license. He was released on bond.
  • Elijah Argue, 20, of Bensenville, was cited about 5:30 p.m. Friday at York and Grand on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant and on charges of expired driver's license and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. In the same incident, Lasashia Fields, 21, of Chicago, was cited on a charge of obstructing identification. They were released on bond.
  • Mariah Saris, 21, of Evanston, was cited shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and North on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She was released on bond.
  • Yvette Hernandez, 19, of Chicago, was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday at York and Interstate 290 on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released on bond.

Odds and ends

  • Pamela Harron, 35, of Addison, was arrested at 2 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West North on a warrant. She was released to the Mount Prospect Police Department. According to a police report, officers came into contact with Harron in response to a call about a domestic disturbance.
  • Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave., informed police that a person who has been issued a no-trespass order was seen on campus Friday. The suspect had been suspended from school. The university did not file a complaint, but wanted a police report as a matter of record.
  • An officer tried to stop a speeding driver about 1 a.m. Saturday, but the driver sped away, last seen headed east on Interstate 290 approaching 25th Avenue.
  • An officer found a stolen U-Haul truck about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot at 550 W. Grand Ave. The truck was stolen two days before in Broadview.
