Gun Stolen From Car In Elmhurst Neighborhood: Cops

A 19-year-old man was charged with burglary, among other offenses, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – A man is accused of stealing a gun from an unlocked car in an Elmhurst neighborhood, police said.

Michael Soverino, 19, of Addison, was charged with burglary, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition, obstruction of police, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

The theft was about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of West Kimbell Avenue, police said.

Soverino was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

In another case, Miguel Zavala, 19, of Addison, and Daniel Villa, 18, of Villa Park, were arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday on burglary charges, police said. The men are accused of entering a car in the 500 block of West Fay Avenue.

Villa was also charged with DUI (drugs), disobeying a stop sign, failing to yield and improperly using lanes, police said.

The men were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
