Guns Removed, Threat Made: Elmhurst Cops
A resident relinquished his guns to local police officers, authorities said. He was required to do so.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving the removal of guns, a threat, theft, a fugitive driver, a crash, a burglary and trespassing. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Guns
- Two people are going through a divorce in the 100 block of North Maple Street. By court order, one of them was required to have his guns removed from the house. The man showed the officer where the guns and ammunition were and relinquished them. They were taken to the police station for safekeeping.
Threat

- During an argument, a person threatened an employee in front of co-workers about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at a business at 737 N. Oaklawn. The suspect denied making the statements. The victim wanted the incident to be documented only.
Theft
- A driver for Super Ego Holding, 677 N. Larch Ave., told police Monday that someone entered his semi-tractor in the last month and stole personal property. The driver leases a semi-tractor from Super Ego. He was directed to bring the semi-tractor to Elk Grove Village for repairs. On Friday, he was informed his semi-tractor was returned to Elmhurst. He then discovered the missing property.
Fugitive driver

- About 1:30 a.m. Monday near Route 83 and Roosevelt Road, an officer tried to stop the driver of a blue BMW connected to a felony. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on 22nd Street.
Crash
- A woman told police that she was slowly backing out of her driveway about 3 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of West Babcock Avenue when she hit the front end of a person's bicycle with her rear bumper. There were no injuries or damage to the bicycle or car.
Burglary
- Locks were cut to five outside storage lockers between 6 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday at Extra Storage Space, 160 W. Industrial Drive. An investigation is pending.
Trespassing
- A suspect banged on a door to see his child about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Linden Avenue. The man was served with a no-trespass notice.
