Habitual Criminal, Domestic: Elmhurst Police
A convicted felon was found in possession of guns, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police addressed cases involving an armed habitual criminal, domestic battery, retail theft, a car burglary and porch piracy. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Armed habitual criminal
- Jahmal J. Lee, 49, who lives at Extended Stay America, 550 W. Grand Ave., was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the hotel on two counts of being an armed habitual criminal. Police said he was a convicted felon in possession of guns. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Domestic battery

- A 64-year-old man from Villa Park was arrested about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Retail theft
- The store manager of AT&T, 291 N. York St., told police Monday that someone between Sept. 1 and Oct. 2 stole a blue Apple iPad from among the display models on the sales floor.
Car burglary

- Someone entered an unlocked car and stole items between 7 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday in a driveway in the 300 block of East Huntington. An investigation is pending.
Fraud
- A resident in the 800 block of East Colfax told police Monday that someone wired money from the resident's bank accounts Sept. 27 into an unknown account. All the accounts have been closed.
Stolen converter
- Someone stole a catalytic converter from a car between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 Brush Hill Road. The theft was reported four days later. An investigation is pending.
Porch piracy
- A package was stolen between 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday from the mailroom at a condo complex in the 800 block of North York Street.
Warrant
- A 21-year-old man from the 600 block of North Van Auken in Elmhurst was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Monday at North Avenue and Route 83 on a DuPage County warrant and charges of passing a vehicle on the shoulder and having a suspended license plate. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Drug possession
- A 27-year-old man from Des Plaines was arrested about 11 p.m. Monday at Lake and York streets on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, improper lighting, no valid driver's license and driving without insurance. He was released.
DUIs
- A 48-year-old woman from Chicago was arrested shortly after midnight Tuesday at St. Charles Road and Poplar Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving with no insurance. She was released.
- A 25-year-old man from the 600 block of St. Mary Court in Elmhurst was arrested shortly before midnight Tuesday in the 500 block of West Lake Street on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of nitrous oxide, transportation of open alcohol by a driver and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released.
