Harassing Calls, Retail Theft: Elmhurst Cops
A former customer made several harassing calls to a local business, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving harassing calls, retail theft, porch piracy, a fall, an argument and a falling object. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Harassing calls
- A former customer made several harassing phone calls Saturday to Elmhurst Animal Care Center, 850 S. Riverside Drive. The suspect currently has a no-trespass notice. An officer called him and told him not to call the business again.

- A man stole a pair of shoes about 11 a.m. Thursday at Shoe Carnival, 195 S. Route 83. An investigation is pending. The man was described as black, in his mid-20s to early 30s, thin, having dreadlocks and a mustache, carrying a FedEx envelope and wearing an orange flannel shirt, blue jeans and white gym shoes.
Porch piracy
- A person stole a package about 3:30 p.m. Friday from a front porch in the 300 block of North Highview Avenue. An investigation is pending.

- A person fell on the sidewalk about 11 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Park Avenue. The person was taken to the hospital.
Argument
- Police responded to an argument involving a custody issue shortly before noon Saturday at a house in the 500 block of South Parkside Avenue. Both people agreed to separate.
Bike found
- A black Outroad folding mountain bicycle was found about 9 p.m. Saturday at First Street and Maple Avenue. The bike was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
Falling object
- An object fell from the Union Pacific railroad bridge over Route 83 about noon Sunday, causing damage to a car. Officers could find no one who may have been responsible.
Seizure
- An officer and medics responded to a person who was having a seizure about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of East Third Street. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
