Woman Finds Stranger In Car In Elmhurst: Cops

The man said he was homeless and looking for a warm place, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A woman in the 1000 block of South Spring Road told police that a stranger was sleeping in her car last week, authorities said.

About 9:30 p.m. Friday, officers spoke with the man. He said he was homeless and needed to find somewhere to stay warm, police said. The woman said nothing was stolen from her car.

The man admitted to having alcohol in the car. He was cited on a charge of possession of open alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Medics arrived and took the man to Elmhurst Hospital for an evaluation, police said.
