House Burglary, Dispute: Elmhurst Cops
A house in an Elmhurst neighborhood was burglarized, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving burglary, a dispute, intoxicated people, shoplifting and a disturbance, among other incidents. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Burglary
- A house in the 400 block of South Sunnyside Avenue was burglarized between Saturday and Tuesday. The suspect entered through an unlocked window. Several items were rifled through. An investigation is pending.

- A vehicle was damaged between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday at CTL Global, 1000 N. County Line Road. The victim said a co-worker's ex-girlfriend showed up at their work, argued and was believed to have shattered the rear window of the victim's vehicle. An investigation is pending.
Intoxicated people
- Police received a report of a highly intoxicated person about 7 a.m. Monday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- An intoxicated person was lying on the ground about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South York Street. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- An intoxicated person was found unconscious about 6 a.m. Wednesday next to a bench inside Jewel, 944 S. York St. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- A highly intoxicated man was lying on the ground about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue. The man was evaluated by medics and released to his brother.
Disturbance

- Police responded to a disturbance about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Grove nursing home, 127 W. Diversey Ave. A resident said he was dissatisfied with the care he was receiving and tried to leave against medical advice. Medics arrived and cleared the man to be released.
Retail theft
- A man stole a carton of cigarettes about 6:30 a.m. Monday at Shell gas station, 301 W. Butterfield Road. He left in a white older Volkswagen Passat. He was described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 180 pounds, having a goatee-style beard, and wearing a gray baseball hat, blue jeans, a dark-colored coat and tattoos on his hands and face.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 400 block of West Montrose Avenue told police Monday that someone used his personal information and withdrew money from his bank account.
- A resident in the 600 block of South Bryan told police Tuesday that someone used her information to file for unemployment benefits.
Theft
- A tire and rim were stolen between Nov. 25 and Nov. 28 from a Jeep Gladiator at Larry Roesch Chrysler, 200 W. Grand Ave.
Mail theft
- A resident in the 500 block of South Stratford Avenue told police Tuesday that she had not received her retirement check in the mail and believes someone may have stolen it. The theft is believed to have occurred between May 6 and Nov. 2.
Warrant
- Parminder Dhillon, 42, of Hanover Park, was arrested about 1 p.m. Tuesday on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. She was released on bond.
