House Fire Put Out In Elmhurst Neighborhood

Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control, the city said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst firefighters put out a house fire Wednesday morning in the 900 block of South Cedar Avenue, the city said.

The house is in south Elmhurst, just south of Butterfield Park.

According to a city news release, the fire was quickly brought under control and an investigation is underway. Everyone in the home got out safely, and no injuries have been reported, the city said.

Cedar Avenue south of Yorkfield Avenue is currently closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Firefighters from Villa Park, Lombard, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Northlake, Wood Dale and York Center were among those who responded.
