How Dealership Worker Hit Elmhurst House
He says he was going "slightly" above the speed limit, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst car dealership employee was on a test drive earlier this month when his car went airborne and struck a house in an Elmhurst neighborhood, police said.
Patch obtained the police report through a public records request.
Vladyslav Vityk, 18, of Norridge, was driving a 2012 BMW X6 for prospective buyers shortly before noon Dec. 5 when the crash happened, police said.

He told officers he owned the BMW and was selling it through his employer, Win Auto Plaza, 704 W. Lake St.
He told officers he drove over two lawns and driveways, with the car going airborne and striking the corner of the house at 715 Junior Terrace, according to the report. The car continued in the air, hitting a fence and shed at 627 W. Babcock Ave., police said.

According to the report, Vityk was driving "slightly" above the speed limit when he felt the passenger side tire vibrate. He said he felt the car slide right, so he corrected to the left and then lost control, police said.
The three men in the car told officers that Vityk was speeding, but they didn't know by how much, the report said. One of the occupants speculated that a tire may have been bad.
Vityk was cited on charges of reckless driving, improper lane usage, driving too fast for conditions and disobeying a traffic control device. He was released on bond.
