ICGS Teams Compete at The Illinois Destination Imagination 2022 Region

Immaculate Conception Destination Imagination Teams

On Saturday, April 2nd, eight Destination Imagination Teams including forty-six students in 3rd-8th grades, from Immaculate Conception Grade School competed in the Regional Tournament at Northern Illinois University. The goal of the Destination Imagination program is to prepare students for college and careers in the new economy. Student-led teams prepare open-ended challenges, learn the creative experience from imagination to innovation in areas involving STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) and compete at Regional, State and Global Tournaments. Every ICGS team achieved great success in this event.

In the Elementary Level Improvisational Challenge:

4th Grade D.I. Frenzy received 3rd place & an award for the Highest Instant Challenge Score in their Division

In the Elementary Level Fine Arts Challenge:

3rd Grade DI Dinamite received 2nd place

5th Grade DI Darklings received 5th place

In the Middle Level Fine Arts Challenge:

6th Grade Destination Procrastination received 1st Place & Renaissance Award for Outstanding Skill in Engineering and Design

In the Elementary Level Engineering Challenge:

3rd Grade Knight Racers received 9th place

5th Grade Fuzzy McZoo received 10th place & an award for the highest Instant Challenge Score in their Division

3rd/4th Grade Seal Team 7 received 12th place

In the Middle Level Engineering Challenge:

6th Grade Salty Seagulls received 4th place

This year all teams are invited to participate in an in-person Global Finals Tournament in May. We congratulate all our teams on their hard work and look forward to their future DI journeys!!
