Inappropriate Touching At Elmhurst Library: Cops
In another case, a local business was defrauded in an impersonation scam, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving inappropriate touching, fraud, a missing man, a drunk person, a repossessed truck and a bike theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Inappropriate touching
- A woman told police that someone inappropriately touched her feet about 4 p.m. Monday at Elmhurst Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave. She did not want to file a complaint. The suspect was issued a no-trespass warning.
Fraud

- Nikolas Kitchen Renovation & Bathroom Remodeling Contractors, 945 S. Prospect Ave., told police Wednesday that someone impersonated an employee to obtain money in an unauthorized account. The incident occurred in early June. An investigation is pending.
- A resident in the 900 block of South Hawthorne told police that he mailed a personal check to a window company Aug. 14. He later learned the check was altered and deposited to a different account. He reported the fraudulent activity to his bank.
Missing man
- A man was reported missing about 8:30 a.m. Monday at 767 Industrial Drive. His car was unoccupied in Elmhurst. He was later found and released to the care of his daughter.
Drunk person

- A drunk person entered the police station's lobby and laid on the floor about 5 p.m. Monday. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Repossessed
- A man told police Tuesday that he leased a truck from Super Ego Logistics, 677 N. Larch Ave., and that it was repossessed with his personal property inside. He was provided with the location where to retrieve his belongings.
Theft
- Budget Truck Rental, 890 N. York St., told police Tuesday that someone had not returned a Freightliner truck or paid for it. An investigation is pending.
Stolen bike
- An unlocked bicycle was stolen between 3:50 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of South Spring Road. An investigation is pending.
