ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving indecent exposure, domestic battery, a shirtless man, truck theft, burglary, porch piracy, DUI and found bicycles. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Indecent exposure

  • A man indecently exposed himself about 5:30 p.m. Monday at Thorntons gas station, 476 N. York St. The man rolled down his window to let a person view the exposure. The witness reported the incident to an employee. The man was gone by the time officers arrived.

  • An Elmhurst woman who lives in the 300 block of West Avenue was arrested about 10 a.m. Wednesday at her home on charges of domestic battery and criminal property damage. The woman was in an argument with a man when she knocked his phone out of his hand and struck him. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Shirtless man

  • LaserAway, a laser hair and tattoo removal service at 183 Route 83, on Wednesday asked police to issue a no-trespass notice to a man who entered the business shirtless. Police did so.

Truck theft

  • Someone stole a semi-truck tractor shortly after midnight Monday at Mayfield Transfer, 855 Church Court. With a GPS tracking device, the truck was found at the U.S. Postal Service's bulk mail center in Forest Park. The truck was returned to its owner.

Burglary

  • Someone removed the top crossbar of a storage unit to break in between Aug. 30 and Sept. 9 at Life Storage, 953 Route 83. The person stole vintage cards and video games. The incident was reported Monday. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • A man was sleeping in his semi-truck about 3 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot at LA Fitness, 620 N. York St., when he felt the trailer shake. Upon checking the trailer, he noticed someone had stolen his two Michelin spare tires.

Porch piracy

  • A woman stole a package from a porch about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Huntington Lane.

DUI

  • A 25-year-old Montgomery man was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Monday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, possession of open alcohol, unlawful possession of marijuana, having expired license plates and illegal stopping. He was released.

Retail theft

  • A 42-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Monday on a retail theft charge. Police said the man stole a cart full of merchandise at Jewel, 944 S. York St. He fled, but was found. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Bicycles found

  • A child's blue bicycle was reported found Wednesday at Washington Park, 445 S. Poplar Ave. It was described as a Trek Precaliber, with serial number WTU259C30. The bike was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
  • A black and blue Nishiki Pueblo bicycle was found about 6 p.m. Wednesday at Plunkett Park, 186 S. West Ave. The bike was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
