Intersection Of Spring And Madison Closed In Elmhurst

ELMHURST, IL — The intersection of Spring Road and Madison Street will be closed for two to three days due to the scheduled replacement of a large diameter gas main by NICOR and their contractor NPL. According to the city, the closure started at 7 a.m. Monday and will be in place until the work is completed.

The city said during the road closure periods a detour will be set up for northbound and southbound Spring Road traffic. Northbound Spring Road traffic will be diverted east on Adams, north on Saylor, and west on Wilson. Southbound Spring Road traffic will be diverted west on Wilson, south on Hillside, and east on Adams.

According to the city, this specific work is part of NICOR's ongoing project which involves replacing the existing gas main with a new large diameter gas main on Madison between Hawthorne and Parkside.
