K-9 Cop Catches Man Who Ran From Police: Cops

ELMHURST, IL — A K-9 police officer from another town helped police officers in Elmhurst catch a man accused of checking car doors and running from authorities overnight.

The K-9, who works for the Palatine Police Department, came to assist officers in Elmhurst after the suspect fled from police, Elmhurst police said.

Police responded to the area of Prospect and McKinley for a report of a suspicious person who was seen checking car doors in the area. The man was found, but police said he ran toward the area of York Commons and was able to get away.

But the cops set up a perimeter, and once the K-9 arrived the suspect was tracked down to a garage in the 200 block of Cayuga, where police say the man was hiding.
