Kissing Employee At Elmhurst Dealership?

The employee denied a customer's allegation, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving battery, a gift card scam, a burglary, theft and harassment. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Battery

  • A woman told police Friday that she has had numerous problems at the Ed Napleton Acura dealership, 745 W. Lake St., and one of its employees. The woman said that after completing a test drive, the employee kissed her. The employee denied doing so.

  • A resident in the 100 block of Knighton Place told police Friday that someone texted him purporting to be with Xfinity and needed to pay for future months with gift cards to obtain a promotion. The resident sent the person the gift card codes. The first text was May 23. A similar thing happened to a Western Springs resident around the same time.

Theft

  • Someone took a customer's iPhone while he was eating dinner between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday at KFC restaurant, 872 N. York St. He told police he had turned his find-my-phone feature.

Burglary

  • Someone broke into a detached garage and stole several items between May 14 and May 26 in the 100 block of South Pick. All the items were on the resident's workbench. An investigation is pending.

Theft of services

  • Ed Napleton Acura, 745 W. Lake St., told police Friday that a man owed money for storage fees after leaving his white Acura Integra on the dealership's lot. A May 19 video showed the man removing the car without paying the fees. An officer tried to contact the suspect.

Harassment

  • A woman at a business in the 600 block of West Grand Avenue told police Friday that she received about 30 phone calls from who she believes to be her ex-boyfriend. A message was left for the man to call the police department.
