Knife At York, Missing Child: Elmhurst Cops
A high school student was found with a knife and then referred to the Peer Jury program, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a knife at York High School, a missing child, road rage, a threat at the high school, a delivery person who was bitten by a dog, a purse theft, a tenant dispute and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Knife at York
- A student was found in possession of a knife and two vape devices containing THC about 8:30 a.m. Thursday at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles St. The youth's parents were notified, and the youth was referred to the Peer Jury program.

- Officers were called about a child who was found barefoot and without a coat about 6:30 p.m. Friday at York and Vallette. The child's mother arrived. She had reported the child missing. They were reunited and returned home. An officer informed the state Department of Children and Family Services of the incident.
Delivery person bitten
- A food delivery person was bitten by a dog that ran out of a house about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Highview Avenue. Medics arrived and took the man to the hospital. The case was forwarded to DuPage County Animal Services.
Road rage

- A road rage incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. Thursday at York and North. An investigation is pending.
Threat at high school
- Police are investigating a threat that took place Thursday at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.
Bike stolen
- A white mountain bicycle was stolen about 8:30 p.m. Friday from a driveway in the 500 block of South Rex Boulevard.
Purse theft
- A purse was stolen from the front passenger seat floorboard between 2:15 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery at 401 E. Lake St. The owner was advised to contact her credit card companies.
Tenant dispute
- A woman told police she was pushed down by one of her tenants shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Armitage Avenue. The woman said she did not wish to sign a complaint. Both parties agreed to separate.
DUIs
- Jose Carrillo-Garcia, 31, of Addison, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at Grand and Oaklawn on charges of DUI and possession of open alcohol. He was released on bond.
- Manuel Musso, 43, of Villa Park, was arrested about l p.m. Sunday at North and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, speeding and no valid driver's license. He was released on bond.
Driving violations
- Udi Tomas Garcia, 28, of Bensenville, was cited about 8 p.m. Thursday at North and Route 83 on charges of no valid driver's license, improper lane usage and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. She was released on bond.
- Macario Lopez Garcia, 21, of Bensenville, was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of North York on a Will County Sheriff's Office warrant and charges of no valid driver's license, operating a motor vehicle while using a phone and tinted windows. He was released on bond.
- Trevon Pitts, 25, of Chicago, was cited at 2 a.m. Saturday at Berteau and North on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond.
- Osvaldo Prado, 21, of Chicago, was cited shortly before midnight Saturday at Spring and Butterfield on charges of driving with a suspended license, no license plate light, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released on bond.
- Carmen Scianna, 36, of Medinah, was arrested about 11:30 am. Sunday at York and Interstate 290 on a Naperville Police Department warrant and a charge of having no front license plate. He was released on bond.
- Daniel Flyke, 65, of Melrose Park, was cited about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South York on charges of driving with a revoked license, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration for non-insurance, driving an uninsured vehicle and failure to yield exiting a private drive. He was released on bond.
Alcohol in public
- Joseph Galloro, 32, of Lombard, was cited about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South York Street on a charge of possession of open alcohol in public. According to a police report, officers responded to a call about a man yelling. Galloro said he was waiting for a ride.
