Liquor Sale Violation At Elmhurst Store: Cops

In another case, a woman told police her ex-partner sent a photo of her new apartment and asked how she could afford it, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a store's sale to a minor, suspicious activities, a dog bite, DUIs, a stolen bicycle and fugitive drivers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Selling to minor

  • A 37-year-old Maywood man was cited about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at 7-Eleven, 572 S. York St., on a charge of selling liquor to a minor. He was released.

  • A woman in the 1100 block of South Eldridge Lane told police Sunday that her ex-partner sent a photo of the woman's new apartment and asked how she could afford it.
  • A woman told police that she was driving about 8 a.m. Thursday near Sunnyside and Crescent avenues when the driver of a red car followed her and recorded her before leaving.

Dog bite

  • When a person approached the front door of a house, the owner opened the door and a dog then bit the person. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The incident occurred about 10 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road.

DUI

  • Eduardo Medina, 36, of Bensenville, was arrested about 4 p.m. Sunday at Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave., on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license and transportation of open alcohol. Police said he refused to provide a breath sample. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 21-year-old Bartlett man was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at North and Larch avenues on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving on an unsafe tire. He was released.

Warrants

  • A 29-year-old Bensenville man was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue and York Street on warrants from DuPage and Cook counties and charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Stolen bicycle

  • Someone stole a bicycle attached to a car about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Whole Foods, 215 S. Route 83. An investigation is pending.

Fugitive drivers

  • An officer tried to stop a Pontiac G8 about 5:30 p.m. Thursday for having no front license plate. The driver sped away, last seen headed east on North Avenue at Berteau Avenue.
  • About 1 a.m. Saturday near North and Clinton avenues, an officer stopped a white Mitsubishi Eclipse that was believed to have been stolen. The driver then sped away, last seen headed east on Interstate 290.

Trespassing

  • Manny's Ale House, 683 W. St. Charles Road, asked police Thursday to issue a no-trespass notice to a person. Police did so.
