Man Accused Of Striking Elmhurst Cop: Police
In other cases, police charge people with burglary and drug possession.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated battery, burglary, retail theft, drug possession and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Aggravated battery
- Antwon Avery, 45, the town of residence unknown, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Monday at York and North on charges of aggravated battery and resisting arrest. When police checked on his well-being, he battered an officer and resisted arrest, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Burglary

- Shannon Weaver, 39, of Chicago, and Joseph Reyna Jr., 30, of Lyons, were arrested on charges of burglary and retail theft (three counts). The theft occurred about 8:30 p.m. July 28 at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. Police said they stole a number of vacuum cleaners and other merchandise from the store. They were arrested Wednesday.
- Michael Crane, 29, of Calumet City, and Thomas Kivowitz, 45, of Oak Park, were arrested about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jewel, 944 S. York, on charges of burglary and retail theft. Police said they stole liquor from the store. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Drug possession
- Monica Dun, 44, of Hillside, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jewel, 944 S. York, on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and transportation of open alcohol. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In the same incident, James Little, 55, of Maywood, was arrested on charges of attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on bond.
Driving violations

- Kelvin Hinds, 21, of Oak Park, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at North and Addison on charges of driving with a suspended license and expired registration. He was released on bond.
- Eric Normand, 40, of Chicago, was arrested about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East Butterfield on two DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrants and charges of driving with a suspended license and driving with a suspended registration. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
