Man Demands Money Near Elmhurst Restaurant, Woman Tells Cops
In another case, a man sold a Rolex watch at Starbucks, but later discovered the cashier's check was fraudulent, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving disorderly conduct, theft, a fugitive driver, trespassing and a custody dispute. Here is information from the latest reports:
Disorderly conduct
- A woman told police that a man reached into her car and demanded money about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald's, 190 E. Butterfield Road. The man denied reaching his hand through the window or asking anyone for money. Because of conflicting statements and video footage of the incident, the man was released without charges.
Theft

- A man advertised his Rolex Sea Dweller wristwatch, which is likely worth thousands, on Facebook Marketplace. He sold it shortly before noon Wednesday at Starbucks, 164 N. York St. The buyer used a fictitious cashier's check as payment. An investigation is pending.
- About 11 p.m. Tuesday, a man entered Potbelly restaurant, grabbed a DoorDash order and left. The man was described as black, in his 30s, heavyset, having dreadlocks and wearing a pink hoodie.
Suspicious at church
- Surveillance footage showed a person depositing a peculiar note in the parish mailbox about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York St. The church asked the police to serve the person with a no-trespass notice.
Fugitive driver

- An officer tried to stop a red BMW 320i shortly after midnight Tuesday on Route 83. The driver sped away, last seen heading south on Route 83. Chicago police later found the car, which was unoccupied.
Trespassing
- A person was issued a no-trespass notice about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Domino's, 1036 S. York St. This was after the person tried to confront an employee.
Custody dispute
- Parents disrupted the Elmhurst Hospital staff's ability to treat their child about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. They argued over custody interference. No violations occurred in relation to their custody agreement.
