Man Killed In Elmhurst Train Crash Identified

The man was crossing the railroad tracks when the crash happened, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A man was crossing railroad tracks Monday in Elmhurst when he was killed by an oncoming train, police said Tuesday.

The man was identified as Rashad Oliver, 31, of Lombard.

Shortly after 3 p.m., Oliver was walking across the Union Pacific tracks east of the Addison Avenue-Cottage Hills Avenue crossing, according to a police news release. He was struck by an eastbound Metra train.

Elmhurst and Metra police and the DuPage County Coroner's Office are investigating the crash, the release said.
