Man Punches Elmhurst Cop At Hospital: Report
In another case, a man who stole liquor last week was arrested days later, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated battery, burglary and aggravated fleeing. Here is information from the reports:
Aggravated battery
- Joshua Mercado, 37, of Broadview, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault. Police said he punched an Elmhurst officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Burglary

- Jamon D. Wade, 25, of Chicago, was arrested about 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of burglary and retail theft (two counts). An officer recognized the car Wade was in from a retail theft Saturday, police said. Wade is accused of stealing liquor at Mariano's, 678 N. York St. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Aggravated fleeing
- Pablo L. Bernal, 49, of Northlake, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South Route 83 on charges of aggravated fleeing, driving with a revoked license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, improper display of registration and possession of marijuana in a vehicle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- Venus S. Jackson, 51, of Lombard, was arrested about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of West North Avenue on charges of aggravated driving with a revoked license and improper backing on the shoulder. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
