Man Says He'll Shoot Cops At Villa Park Bar: Police
The bar disturbance was two blocks from Elmhurst's city limit.

VILLA PARK, IL – A Rosemont man was arrested in a Villa Park bar disturbance after he told officers he would shoot them, authorities said.
Ryan McGovern, 24, was charged with threatening a public official, a felony, police said. His brother, Aiden McGovern, 21, faces a misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing a police officer.
About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Villa Park officers responded to a disturbance at DeMito's Saloon, 335 E. Kenilworth Ave., according to DuPage County prosecutors' news release. The bar is about two blocks from Elmhurst's city limit.

According to the release, the brothers approached the officers' outside the establishment. In the subzero weather, both men verbally assaulted the officers, with Ryan McGovern saying, "I have an automatic weapon, and I'm going to shoot you," police said.
Ryan McGovern also said, "I pay for you. I'm gonna sue the f--- out of you," according to the release.

“Regardless of the circumstances, threatening to shoot a police officer, as alleged against Ryan McGovern, is an extremely serious accusation and will not be tolerated in DuPage County,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.
