Man Sentenced To Prison After Stealing Car In Elmhurst: County
A Chicago man has been sentenced to seven years in jail after stealing a car in Elmhurst last November.

ELMHURST, IL — One of three Chicago men accused of possessing a stolen car in Elmhurst has been sentenced to seven years in jail, the DuPage County State’s Attorney's Office said in a release. Tyrone Wilson, 19, entered a blind plea of guilty to one county of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a class 2 felony. Wilson's co-defendants, Deonte Daniel, 21, and Deanthony Webb, 24, still have their cases pending.
The incident occurred on Nov. 27, 2017, at approximately 5 a.m., in Elmhurst, the Attorney's Office said. Elmhurst Police responded to a call of a burglary in progress, and when they arrived they saw two cars fleeing the area. In their attempt to flee, the driver of one of the vehicles, a Toyota, allegedly hit the second vehicle, a Dodge, also allegedly attempting to flee. The Toyota then crashed into a home.
The Attorney's Office said four men then allegedly tried to flee the cars on foot. Daniel was allegedly found a short time later in a garage, where a gun was also found. Webb and Wilson were found walking on a nearby street and taken into custody.

Elmhurst Police Department learned through the investigation that the men burglarized three vehicles on Gladys and Evergreen Streets in Elmhurst. It is further alleged that the Dodge vehicle in the men’s possession was stolen the previous night out of Villa Park.
“This afternoon, Mr. Wilson admitted to his role in the incident on Nov. 27, 2017,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a release. “Today’s sentencing sends the message that if you commit this type of brazen crime in DuPage County you will be caught, charged and if found guilty, spend a significant amount of time behind bars."
