Man Steals Another's Watch In Elmhurst: Cops
The Rolex was taken during a Facebook Marketplace transaction, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A Park Ridge man was arrested Monday after he stole a person's $8,800 Rolex watch in Elmhurst, police said.
Xavion Vargas, 20, was charged with burglary and attempted theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he remained Tuesday afternoon.
According to a police report, the other person met with Vargas about 1 p.m. in the area of Starbucks, 164 N. York St. They had agreed to meet through Facebook Marketplace.

Vargas greeted the person, inspected the watch and ran away without paying for it, police said. He was later found and arrested.

Domestic battery
- Javed Spencer, 26, of Chicago, was arrested about 1 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of South York Street on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- Brandon J. Colburn, 35, of Big Rock, was arrested about 3 a.m. Thursday at Roosevelt Road and York Street on charges of possession of a controlled substance, DUI (drugs) and improper stopping in the roadway. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Evelyn Patino, 47, of Chicago, was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Road and West Avenue on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic control signal and driving an uninsured vehicle. She was released on bond.
- Robert Baskin, 37, of Bellwood, was arrested about 5 a.m. Monday at Roosevelt and Butterfield roads on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on bond.
- Samuel Nicholson, 53, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, possession of open alcohol by a driver and possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.
Trespassing
- Yaman Obaid, 20, of Des Plaines, was cited about 7 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue on a charge of trespassing. According to a police report, Obaid accessed the seventh level of the parking deck by moving a large barricade that was clearly marked with signs indicating the parking level was closed. Obaid was released on bond.
