Man Strikes Worker At Elmhurst Store: Cops

The same suspect threatened people in May at the train station, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A Wheaton man who has gotten in trouble at least a couple of times before in Elmhurst was arrested last week for striking an employee at a local store, police said.

James Porter, 55, was arrested on charges of battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault and violation of his bail bond.

The incident occurred about 10:30 a.m. Thursday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. Porter was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Three days earlier, Porter was charged with retail theft at CVS.

On May 30, Porter was arrested on the evening of May 30 after he was accused of threatening people, throwing things and trying to kick someone in the head at the downtown train station, police said.
