Man Tried To Impersonate Cop: Elmhurst Police

The man was driving drunk and had marijuana, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – A drunk driver tried to impersonate a police officer Thursday afternoon, Elmhurst police said.

William Owens, 37, of Palatine, was arrested about 4 p.m. at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, attempted impersonation of a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated, DUI, possession of marijuana by a driver and driving an uninsured car.

He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
