Man Tried To Pull Earrings In Elmhurst Disturbance: Cops

In another case, a man is believed to have charged thousands to his former Elmhurst employer, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, theft, burglary, a disturbance, a fugitive driver, a missing person, damage and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A woman told police that a suspect struck her and tried to pull out her earrings about 11 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of West Alexander Boulevard. Charges are pending. The incident was listed as a domestic battery.

  • A man charged several thousand dollars worth of supplies to his former Elmhurst employer's business account. The man was taken into custody and taken to the police station. The victim was listed as Glenrock Co., a building materials supplier at 200 W. Wrightwood Ave. The man was released to Downers Grove police. Charges are pending.
  • A resident on Elm Creek Drive told police that someone entered her storage locker on the outer deck and stole various dinnerware items. The theft was believed to have occurred between December 2019 and November 2023.

Burglary

  • An unlocked car in the 400 block of North Willow Road was burglarized between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 28, with $2 in cash stolen. An investigation is pending.

  • A person was being disrespectful to staff about 8 p.m. Thursday at Currito restaurant, 272 N. York St. The person was given a no-trespass notice.

Fugitive driver

  • An officer tried to stop the driver of a white Chevrolet Tahoe because of an obstructed registration about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at York and Lake streets. The driver failed to stop and then drove east on Interstate 290 from Lake Street. An investigation is pending.

Drunk

  • A man was found drunk and passed out in the passenger seat of his car about 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of North York Street. He was unable to take care of himself. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Missing person

  • An officer saw a car associated with a missing and endangered Chicago resident about 3 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North York Street. The officer stopped the car and took the person to the hospital. Chicago police were notified.

Retail theft

  • Three people left Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive, and activated the alarm about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The store was unsure which items were stolen. An investigation is pending.

Damage

  • Someone knocked over a 3-foot Christmas tree about 8 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Crescent Avenue. The same type of tree was also knocked down in the 200 block of East Crescent.

White substance

  • An employee at Clarion Hotel, 933 S. Riverside Drive, noticed a white substance on a couch Sunday. An investigation is pending.
