The incident has some resemblance to a case the previous Sunday at Get Bazzy, 152 N. York St. The store is across the street from Buffalo Wild Wings.

The clerk handed the man money from the register, but later learned the man's story was a scam, police said.

In that case, the suspect was described as white, 45 to 50 years old, 5-foot-9, 210 pounds and bald.

In the Buffalo Wild Wings case, police gave a more basic description, saying the man was white and bald.

Patch emailed a city spokeswoman to determine whether police saw a connection between the cases.
