Man Who Damaged Elmhurst House Arrested: Cops

He spray-painted the garage door and threw a brick at a window, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of criminal property damage, trespassing to a car, DUI and retail theft. Here is the information from the latest arrest log:

Damage to house

  • A 45-year-old Chicago man was arrested Sunday on charges of criminal property damage and disorderly conduct. Police said the man spray-painted a garage door and threw a brick at a home's front window about 12:30 p.m. July 26 in the 800 block of South Cedar Avenue. The homeowner told police he did not know the suspect. The suspect was released.

Stolen car

  • A 36-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of West Lake Street on a charge of trespassing to a car. During a traffic stop, police discovered the man was driving a car that was reported stolen four days before. He was released.

DUI

  • A 19-year-old Peoria woman was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Monday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of DUI (zero tolerance), possession of alcohol by a minor, possession of an explosive bullet and reckless driving. In the same incident, a 20-year-old Chicago woman was arrested on charges of obstructing identification, obstructing an officer, attempting to possess a fraudulent driver's license and consumption of alcohol by a minor. A 20-year-old Chicago woman was cited on charges of possession of alcohol by a minor and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said they were called about reckless driving. The women were taken to the police station and then released.

Retail theft

  • A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 10 p.m. Tuesday on charges of retail theft, driving a car with a suspended registration, driving an uninsured car and driving without a seat belt. Police said they stopped the man a half hour after he committed retail theft at Jewel, 944 S. York St. He was released.

Warrant

  • A 72-year-old Lombard man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Monday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, on a warrant. Police came into contact with the man when they were asked to help with discharging a patient. He was released.
