Naked Pics, Bar Disruption: Elmhurst Cops

A resident was threatened with exposure after sending explicit photos on a dating app, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving explicit photos, a disturbance, disputes, a trailer theft, a ride-share injury, theft and forgery. Here is the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Explicit photos

  • A resident in the 300 block of East Parkview told police Thursday that he used the Down dating app and sent explicit photos of himself. Another person threatened to distribute the resident's photos if he did not send the person money. An investigation is pending.

  • A few people caused a disturbance about 1 a.m. Saturday at Riley's Gathering Place bar, 590 S. York St. All the suspects were given no-trespass notices.

Disputes

  • Officers responded to a dispute between an employee and company management about 4 p.m. Friday at Super Ego Holding, a trucking company, 677 N. Larch Ave.
  • A man told police that someone else pushed him, causing him to fall. The other person denied it. The incident was about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Schiller Street. No one was charged because of conflicting statements.

Trailer theft

  • Someone cut the lock to a gated fence shortly before midnight Wednesday and stole a flatbed trailer from the parking lot at 560 N. Michigan St. The trailer was hooked to a Bulldog Concrete white Ford truck. An investigation is pending.

Ride-share injury

  • A woman got into an argument with a Lyft driver, who then drove over the woman's foot when she got out. The incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • Someone stole several items about 10 a.m. Friday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. An investigation is pending.

Forgery

  • A resident in the 500 block of South Hillcrest told police Friday that two of the four checks that the resident mailed were forged and cashed under a different name. An investigation is pending.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 900 block of South Stratford Avenue told police Friday that he sent money to a person who posted a couch for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The resident never received the couch.

Retail theft

  • Someone stole merchandise about 10 a.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. An investigation is pending.

Harassment

  • A woman at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, told police Saturday evening that someone continued to call her and make her feel uncomfortable. The suspect was given a no-trespass notice.

Bicycle fall

  • A man injured himself in a bicycle fall about 7 a.m. Sunday at Rex Boulevard and Crescent Avenue. The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
